Thanksgiving

It was our first major Holiday away from our families. We were bummed but Amy (Matt's sister) flew out from Utah to spent the week with us! YAY! So that made it a lot easier to be away. It was so fun to have her and little Shaylee here! We had Thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of other dental students in Matt's class. It was really fun and dinner was so good! Zoey was in heaven eating everything off my plate, especially the stuffing. She couldn't get enough!
I made homemade pumpkin pie for the dinner which was actually a really big deal. My mom has attempted to teach me how to make pie crust several times but I always mess it up. But I had her walk me through the whole process over the phone. The first attempt was a disaster but the second attempt was perfect (well I"m calling it perfect)! Thanks Mom!
The rest of the weekend we just bummed around the apartment. Unfortunately Amy got a cold on Friday so she wasn't feeling to great. But we still had fun visiting, playing games, and watching TV. I'm pretty sure we got Amy addicted to Cougar Town! Such a funny show.

Amy keeping the Fletcher tradition of pullling crazy faces!

Zoey attacking the camera. We have so many of these shots. Check out those Big blue eyes!

I think Shaylee might be the most chill baby ever! So cute!

Zoey really liked Shaylee but she hasn't really grasped the concept of soft yet. So she was constantly trying to poke Shaylee in the eye or pick her nose. Poor Shaylee.

Just Because

There are some days when your kids look way too cute to not take pictures. Today was one of those days. The leggings with the boots remind me of a character from "How to Train Your Dragon". One of my favorite movies.

Halloween!

Yes I know that it's December and I'm only now posting about Halloween. But Zoey was way too cute in ther costume to not post some pictures. We had a really fun Halloween at Mike and Madelyn's party. Matt and I's costumes were pretty lame due to the lack of funds. I case you are wondering we are our Guitar Hero alter egos.

Rollie Pollie Kitty Cat!

Since Zoey has learned to crawl taking pictures has become very interesting. As soon as the camera comes out she crawls to it and tries to look at the screen. We now have a lot of close ups!

Good times at the O'Farrell's

Utah Trip

Zoey and I were so excited to go to Utah in October to visit everyone! I know we hadn't been gone that long but I still missed everyone.
Nana D had a whole mess of stuffed animals waiting for us when we arrived at her house.
We went and played at the park with Nana, Amy, Malaki, and Shane. Zoey was fascinated with the ducks.

We aslo went to the Aquarium, which Zoey is a big fan of. She loves to watch the fish swim around. She also got a big kick out of the penguins!

We had a great time hanging out with family and friends!

Sightseeing in Philly

We finally made it to Old Philly to see some sights with best friend Ka and her man Clint. They drove up from DC to hang out with us for the weekend! So much fun to see them!

We went and checked out Betsy Ross' house, but didn't take the tour because we are cheap cheap cheap! Maybe someday we'll go inside.

Zoey really really wanted to drink Matt's soda

How cute are Ka and Clint!

Ka tried her first cheese steak sandwich. She didn't like it too much. Granted they weren't that great to begin with. I've definitely had better.

This is Independence Hall. The Declaration of Independence was signed in this room.

So I always thought there was some cool story behind the crack. Something along the lines of it was shot in the Revolutionary War or something. Come to find out it's just a bell that wasn't made that well, cracked and then didn't work. It was the bell above Independence hall for a couple years, but that's it. They didn't even ring in on July 4th. A little bit of a disappointment if I do say so myself.
Washington Square is a park dedicated to the those who died fighting for our country's freedom.

Zoey was such a good sport during the whole day. She just chilled in her carrier for 5 hours. She loves to watch people and smile at them. We even had a couple Grandma stop and talk to her (not us, just Zoey). My little girl is awesome!

I always feel like a little kid standing next to Ka.

Matt's first Day of Dental School!

All of Matt's hard work has paid off. He is officially in dental school. He still has a hard time believing that he got in. The other night we were sitting at the table eating dinner and he suddenly looks over at me and says "Babe! I'm in dental school! I'm going to be a dentist!" He sounded so shocked that I couldn't help laughing. He is really enjoying school and meeting all the other students. I think his quest at school is to convert all of the guys to get into college football (which he is now a huge fan of). I wish him the best of luck in this quest.

He looks like a dentist already,
or at least an assistant!

Playing at the park

Zoey had a great time at the park with Nana D. She loved playing on the teter totter and the swings.
Zoey was a little nervous swinging by herself

She liked swinging with Dad way better!

Zoey has so much fun with Nana D

Our Philly Apartment

Obviously I'm haven't been very good at updating my blog. In an attempt to remedy that I've banned myself from readding for the next two weeks.
Here are a few pictures of our little apartment.

Philly

Well, we all made it to Philly. Matt and I did the 35 hour drive out here, in seperate cars, and arrived on the 15th. Zoey took her first plane ride with my mom out here on the 17th. My mom was here until the 22nd which was a huge help. She watched Zoey for us while Matt and I unpacked. This made it possible for us to be completely unpacked, with pictures on the wall, by the 20th. Yeah! Since then the we have just been hanging out at home and getting a feel for the area around us.
We are really happy with our little apartment. It's half the size of our last place but we found a place for everything without it feeling too cluttered. The only thing that is a little strange is our bikes in the dining room, minor detail. We were pleasantly surprised with the new carpet, linoleum, counter tops, cabinets, and fresh paint! The complex is pretty old but our apartment doesn't feel old. I'll post some pictures when I actually get the place clean (my goal for the day).
Matt started school today. I think he's just a bit nervous about starting, but as we all know he'll be just fine. We are a ways out of the city but he thinks the commute shouldn't be too bad. He's just planning on listening to a lot of audio books. I know they saved me on the drive out here.
Zoey has been a little bit of a poop pants the last little couple days but that's due to the fact that she's teething. So she's been a little fussy and waking up at 4:00 am everyday. She is the queenof sitting now a days. She never wants to be on her back or stomach but always sitting. Since this recent development she loves bath time even more, which I didn't think was possible! She LOVES to splash in the tub. She manages to get us both soaking wet! I'll have to get some pictures of that up as well.
