Temple Square

We haven't gone to Temple Square to see the lights, due to Matt's weird boycott (something about not enough lights), for the last couple years. But this year I really wanted to do something with our friend the Acketts, so we went to Cafe Rio and to see the lights at Temple Square. It was Cafe Rio that made Matt break his boycott. Dinner was great and it's always fun catching up with friends.
The lights were pretty too. Jay even brought Christmas music for us to listen to as we walked around Temple Square.  But Matt is right, there are definitely less lights then when we were kids.

Eating with Zoey

Meals with Zoey can be very entertaining. She has inherited the talent of pulling crazy faces just like her dad. Her favorite face is Crazy Eyes. To make her crazy eyes she bulges her eyes, opens her mouth and sticks her jaw out to the side, and holds her breath so her face turns bright red. She loves to make this face because we laugh so hard at her. She really likes being funny. Anyways, we are eating at Nana D's and she starts pulling all of these faces. Before long she has Nana, Brandon, and I in tears because we are laughing so hard. She is now Brandon's favorite.
Sitting there all nice and cute then...........

She hits ya with this face. What kids pulls a face like this on purpose? I'll tell ya, a Fletcher. Anything for a laugh
For whatever reason Zoey hasn't ever been a big fan of her Pop pop. So our goal for this trip was for them to be friends by the end. Attempt number one was feeding her. She thought about it took a few bite from him, but in the end she cried and wouldn't eat. So sad.
Keep trying Pop pop!

Discovery Gateway

To start off our Utah holiday adventures Zoey and I met up with our favorite gal pals Holly and Ava at Discovery Gateway in Salt Lake. The girls had so much fun. They spent FOREVER playing in the garden room playing with the balls. They had suction tubes that work like the drive thru at a bank. You can watch the balls travel up all the tubes and into a giant ball pit. It was awesome. I couldn't believe how entertained they were. Zoey missed her morning nap but was as happy as can be playing with Ava.

Ava looking amazed!
Zoey loves with on her face.
The next area was called Kid's Eye View where everything is shrink to be kid size.
Zoey was really really excited about the tiny couch

Ava wasn't quite as excited

A very proud moment: Going down the slide all by herself

Ava was a rockstar (get it!...rockstar!) She made it all the way to the top.

Zoey trying to be as cool as Ava. She didn't quite make it since she never left the ground.

Thanksgiving

It was our first major Holiday away from our families. We were bummed but Amy (Matt's sister) flew out from Utah to spent the week with us! YAY! So that made it a lot easier to be away. It was so fun to have her and little Shaylee here! We had Thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of other dental students in Matt's class. It was really fun and dinner was so good! Zoey was in heaven eating everything off my plate, especially the stuffing. She couldn't get enough!
I made homemade pumpkin pie for the dinner which was actually a really big deal. My mom has attempted to teach me how to make pie crust several times but I always mess it up. But I had her walk me through the whole process over the phone. The first attempt was a disaster but the second attempt was perfect (well I"m calling it perfect)! Thanks Mom!
The rest of the weekend we just bummed around the apartment. Unfortunately Amy got a cold on Friday so she wasn't feeling to great. But we still had fun visiting, playing games, and watching TV. I'm pretty sure we got Amy addicted to Cougar Town! Such a funny show.

Zoey attacking the camera. We have so many of these shots. Check out those Big blue eyes!

I think Shaylee might be the most chill baby ever! So cute!

Zoey really liked Shaylee but she hasn't really grasped the concept of soft yet. So she was constantly trying to poke Shaylee in the eye or pick her nose. Poor Shaylee.

Just Because

There are some days when your kids look way too cute to not take pictures. Today was one of those days. The leggings with the boots remind me of a character from "How to Train Your Dragon". One of my favorite movies.

Halloween!

Yes I know that it's December and I'm only now posting about Halloween. But Zoey was way too cute in ther costume to not post some pictures. We had a really fun Halloween at Mike and Madelyn's party. Matt and I's costumes were pretty lame due to the lack of funds. I case you are wondering we are our Guitar Hero alter egos.

Rollie Pollie Kitty Cat!

Since Zoey has learned to crawl taking pictures has become very interesting. As soon as the camera comes out she crawls to it and tries to look at the screen. We now have a lot of close ups!

Utah Trip

Zoey and I were so excited to go to Utah in October to visit everyone! I know we hadn't been gone that long but I still missed everyone.
Nana D had a whole mess of stuffed animals waiting for us when we arrived at her house.
We went and played at the park with Nana, Amy, Malaki, and Shane. Zoey was fascinated with the ducks.

We aslo went to the Aquarium, which Zoey is a big fan of. She loves to watch the fish swim around. She also got a big kick out of the penguins!

We had a great time hanging out with family and friends!
